Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception)
The Early Years Foundation Stage sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. All schools and Ofsted-registered early years providers must follow the EYFS, including childminders, preschools, nurseries and school reception classes. The EYFS Framework supports an integrated approach to early learning and care. It gives all professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children.
Key Stage One (Years 1 & 2) and Key Stage Two (Years 3 to 6)
Our curriculum has been designed to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum and gives our pupils the widest possible educational opportunities. It caters for the development of the whole child with a balance between the academic and creative. Children are taught as individuals, group members and as a class unit, according to their needs. Great emphasis is placed upon creating the right environment in which learning can flourish. The core subjects followed are Mathematics, English and Science. The foundation subjects are Computing, History, Geography, Design Technology , Art, Music, P.E., R.E. and modern languages (French). In all subjects children cover the expectations for their year group with lessons differentiated to meet their individual needs so that they can achieve their potential.
